Yesterday was a bummer kind of day.The wind was blowing so hard you could not stand up and we had to take in our living room slide because it was rocking so much. First time ever we have done that.

Also  because of Connie's breathing problems she did not need to get out in the wind and dust.
I would have been better off staying in also.

I chose to go into downtown Truth or Conseqences and get a price on something. Winds blowing like crazy and nothing else to do, so I would take care of this little chore today so we would not have to take up our time when the weather is better.

I took my camera with me because our experience has been if we don't have it in the car a great photo op will present itself and it will be missed. So,I have gotten into the habit of taking it with me anytime I leave in the car. (If I don't forget)

I pulled up directly in front of the place I wanted to get a price from and went inside for all of about 3 minutes, at most. Having done my chore I returned home and went to take my camera in the house and could not find it. I looked high and low. No Camera. The only place it could have come up missing was where I stopped to get a price on something. Dummy me, I had run in the business, leaving the car unlocked and the camera in the passenger seat.

That is two things I never do, but the one time I did  it cost me a camera.

After the inital shock of losing the camera wore off it dawned on me that I would not be able to take photos and post them on the website. That was also compounded by the fact that we are nowhere near anyplace to replace a camera. After checking online for the nearest Wal-Mart I discover it is in Socorro, about 75 miles away.

Again, thinking  (I need to stop that) that if I go up to Wal-Mart this evening it will leave us good weather time to explore. Smart as a hog I am.

Against the protestions of my darling wife Connie I head out for Socorro and Wal-Mart in search of a replacement camera.

I get out on Interstate 25 north and after a few miles I notice that their is not much traffic. I am fighting the wheel because of the strong winds and the skys are dark with dust blowing. It was like a scene out of a horror movie, but I was determined to get to Wally World.

About 25 miles from the campground I begin to wish I had stayed home and waited till the wind died down. Then I saw another good reason not to be out on the roads. A tractor trailer truck had blown over into the medium...Soooooooooo, that's the reason their is hardly any traffic out.

To end this quickly, I did make it to Wal-Mart , bought a camera , made it back safley home.
So you had better enjoy my pictures from now on!

  On to more productive things.

Today we drove to some old mining towns, got some snow on us and seen some old houses, old trucks and cars and yes some New Mexico scenery. Taken with new camera.

We went to:

Cuchillo
Winston
Placita
Monticello
Chloride
